Inspirational Noise -- Those are the first words that come to mind when I listen to Lady Gaga’s self-proclaimed “album of the decade”. Words that come from a woman hell-bent on changing the world of pop-culture and music. It’s something she maybe trying a little too hard to do…because the saviors of this album come when she’s being just pure pop Gaga.  Well, being that and Madonna.

From the makers of Ice Age comes the story of a Macaw named Blu (Jesse Eisenberg) who thought he was the last of his kind, living the good life with his owner Linda (Leslie Mann) until finding about another Macaw named Jewel (Anne Hathaway) in the wonderful land of Rio de Janeiro. Craziness is going to abound when Rio hits theaters on April 15th, but for now you can grab a fun batch of funky South American soul with the music from the motion picture.

It was the evening before Halloween and while all the witches, ghosts and goblins were roaming the streets of Downtown Charlotte, an arena full of fans were patiently waiting for two-time ACM Entertainer of the Year Carrie Underwood to take the stage at the Time Warner Cable Arena.

The journey of a recording artist is not an easy road to travel in a sea full of hopeful young artists trying to make it in the cut-throat world of the music industry. After planting a seed in country music nearly four years ago, nineteen year old Texas native Katie Armiger has blossomed with growth and maturity on her brand new album "Confessions of a Nice Girl".

Gretchen Wilson paid a special visit to Southern California last weekend and we were there for the party!  The first country act to appear at the Los Angeles County Fair this season just happened to be a Teen Choice Award nominee for Best Female Country Artist.  The rowdy country music superstar brought together a loud patriotic crowd, some hardcore country music lovers and the typical fairgoers for a rocking good time.

Take four separate vocalists that have realized their strength comes not from their individual voices, but a combination of blending of their voices together to create the perfect harmonies and you have the magic that is Little Big Town.  Their new offering The Reason Why continues their attack on the charts and quest for vocal domination from a group. Martina McBride took over Pacific Amphitheater at The OC Fair the other night with a smashing set that was like cotton candy to our music loving ears!  Her powerful vocals sent vibrations throughout the fairground as Martina belted out a pleasing selection of tunes from her novel thick catalogue that included This One's For The Girls, Independence Day, Wrong Baby Wrong and much more! When there is a highly anticipated film about to hit the theatres you can expect that a pretty awesome soundtrack will be released around the same time!  If you need some music to listen to while you plot to steal the moon, then I have the perfect CD for you.  Pharrell ushers in the majority of the tracks on the Despicable Me soundtrack coming out on Universal Music today.  His music takes us on a wild ride through the life of a super villain with a heart of gold.  I mean, super villains cannot really have hearts of gold, but knowing how little girls can change a man’s life means I have to give him props.  And the soundtrack CD runs the gamut of Despicable Me from Pharrall to the Unicorn Song by Agnes.  In other words we have a soundtrack much like our super villain, mean and nasty at times, cute and innocent at times, and it is filled with a lot of good music. DGC/Interscope Records releases the all-new Shrek Forever After: Music From the Motion Picture CD today.  This awesome soundtrack features artists like Scissor Sisters, Antonio Banderas, The Carpenters, Lucy Schwartz ad Landon Pigg, along with some original scores from the film.  The soundtrack is one of our favorites to be released so far this year. If you haven't seen Taylor Swift live and in concert prior to reading this then you should probably go out and purchase tickets to one of the few remaining dates of her current tour.  We were invited to catch a glimpse at Taylor in action on the second day of her two-day stop at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Watching this talented young artist as captured the audience during her sold-out Fearless 2010 tour was definitely a sight to see and solidifies exactly why this twenty year old received a nomination for Entertainer of the Year at this years Academy of Country Music Awards.  (More Inside)

Sarah Buxton is the vocalist equivalent to the actor that you’ve seen everywhere, but the name sticks on the end of your tongue because they just haven’t had that big lead.  Well, get ready to share the name Sarah Buxton with your friends because the collaborator extraordinaire is proud to release her self-titled debut album Sarah Buxton.

On Sunday the streets of Sunset Boulevard were mobbed with fans lined up to see one of the hottest sold-out concerts this month at the House of Blues featuring Honor Society with special guests Emily Osment and Esmee Denters.  We caught a glimpse of both acts rehearsing prior to the show and while Emily had a few problems hearing her feedback, the concert went on flawless.  Emily was first up and sang new music from her upcoming EP scheduled for release on October 27th (click here to pre-order).  Her set list included the following tunes:  "The Only One," "All The Way," "Average Girl" and ending the show with "I Hate The Homecoming Queen."  Next up was Esmee Denters, who came back out later during Honor Society to sing a duet called "My Own Way."  (More Inside)

Gavin Rossdale played a rare show last night closing out the summer concert series at The Grove in Los Angeles, California.  Band members from No Doubt, including Gavin's wife Gwen Stefani, were also in attendance to support Gavin.  Opening the show was a talented newcomer by the name of Amy Kuney who performed an acoustic set of three songs with the final song accompanied by her keyboard.  Up next was the popular boy band Varsity Fan Club who danced through their three song set before Gavin took the stage closing out the show with a 45 minute set.  Check out some of our photos from the event inside.  More posts to follow!

The Black Eyed Peas brought their show to the Pacific Amphitheater last night during the closing weekend of the O.C. Fair.  You can find a complete review of the concert along with photos inside.

The crowd roared with excitement as Kelly Clarkson took the stage at the Pacific Amphitheatre in Orange County last Thursday.  Warming up the audience, Kelly began to pervade the amphitheatre with her richly expressive vocals as she sang the title track of her album “All I Ever Wanted”.  Joined onstage by an eleven piece band which included musical instruments such as the trombone, the saxophone, the trumpet, the drums, an acoustic guitar, an electric guitar, a bass guitar, a keyboard, as well as a live DJ spinning and 2 back-up vocalists, Kelly gifted fans with an energetic show from start to finish. “I'm nothing without my band,” Kelly confessed. Ashley Tisdale appeared at The Grove in Los Angeles, California yesterday performing songs from her upcoming album "Guilty Pleasure" scheduled to be released on July 28th.  Many fans were there to support the opening act The V-Factory, who danced up a sweat in the 90 degree weather.  When Ashley came out on stage the crowd roared with excitement!  Some even made some creative homemade signs.  Opening the show with an energetic performance of "Masquerade," Ashley continued to win over the fans with "Tell Me Lies," "What If" and "Hair." The audience sang along to Ashley's previous hit single "Hot Mess" as well as her current single "It's Alright, It's Ok." Hollywood Teen'Zine brings you some highlights we snapped during the show.

Hollywood Teen'Zine was on hand at Henry Fonda Theatre last night for one of the greatest shows ever.  The Veronicas hit the stage right after a show-stopping performance of Pretty Reckless (featuring Gossip Girls Taylor Momsen).  Check out the photos from the show inside!

The highly anticipated follow-up to the success of Kellie Pickler’s debut album is finally here. Those who have followed Kellie’s career since her days on American Idol know that she has been through an emotional rollercoaster ride over the past two years. Kellie has finally put pen to paper co-writing five of the album’s ten tracks to bring her fans along for the ride in her newly released self-titled album. The album sends its listeners through a plethora of emotions from start to finish, which Kellie explains, “this album is me, this is who I am and where I am.”

With the release of her first full length album outside of the Hannah Montana facade, Miley Cyrus proves that she is still at the top of her game. Her new album entitled “Breakout” has already made this young starlet climb back up to the top of the music charts with the release of the first single “7 Things.” You may be surprised to find out that this multi-talented actress and singer is also a gifted songwriter. In fact, out of the twelve tracks featured on the new album eight of them were co-written by Cyrus, including the hit single “7 Things.”

Skarlet Blue, a new up-and-coming band from Melbourne, Australia has just concluded their tour in the U.S.  Fortunately, I was able to attend their last two events in Los Angeles.

The crowd anxiously waited for Kate Voegele to take the stage at The Roxy on Wednesday night.  The guitars began, the curtain rose and the crowd went wild for this petite 21 year old Ohio native as she began to belt out the lyrics to the first song of her set.  It is always surprising to find how such a tiny person can have such a powerful voice. Not only is Kate's voice powerful, but it is also very captivating and unique, which makes her the perfect vehicle for Myspace Records to launch their label.  

The soundtrack for "Another Cinderella Story" features a number of tracks from the film’s stars including Drew Seeley and Selena Gomez, who is best know for her role on The Disney Channel’s hit tv series "Wizards of Waverly Place". The entire soundtrack is an upbeat jam session that will make you want to dance from start to finish.

The show was completely sold out.  Shawn Parr and Robin Banks from Los Angeles’ new country music radio station, Go Country, introduced Taylor Swift and the crowd went wild. Taylor opened the show with "I’m Only Me When I’m With You." After the opening song I knew we were in for a great concert!
